Rachel’s Rangers: Cape Fly Away Summertime hiking adventures for children with the Kearney House staff. Meet 10 am at the Kearney House at Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 2). About 3 mi., 2 hrs., easy. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free.

Saturday, August 7

Sea Glass Hunt Guided hike for children with Lindsey Foschini. Meet 11 am at the entrance to Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 2). About 1 mi., 2 hrs., easy. Children must be accompanied by an adult; bring containers for treasure. Free; $5 parking.

Monday–Friday, August 9–13

“Camp Palisades” Summer day camp for ages 8–12, with hiking, nature study, history, outdoor lore, river seining, and more. 9 am–3 pm each day. Cost is $150 per child, pre-registration required: cfehre@njpalisades.org / 201 768-1360 ext. 107.

Rachel’s Rangers: Cliff Dale Summertime hiking adventures for children with the Kearney House staff. Meet 10 am at Park Headquarters in Alpine (PIP Exit 2). About 3 mi., 2 hrs., easy. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free.

Sunday, August 15

Carpenter’s Loop Guided hike with Christina Fehre. Meet 10 am at Ross Dock Picnic Area in Fort Lee (on the river immediately north of the George Washington Bridge). About 4 mi., 2 hrs., moderate. Free; $5 parking.

Tuesday, August 17

Rachel’s Rangers: Who Rock Summertime hiking adventures for children with the Kearney House staff. Meet 10 am at State Line Lookout in Alpine (northbound PIP opposite Exit 3). About 3 mi., 2 hrs., easy. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free.

Tuesday, August 24

Rachel’s Rangers: Fort Lee Summertime hiking adventures for children with the Kearney House staff. Meet 10 am at Fort Lee Historic Park (Hudson Terrace immediately north of the George Washington Bridge). About 2 mi., 2 hrs., easy; includes optional stroll onto the GW Bridge walkway. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free.

Saturday, August 28

Hikes for Dogs: Undercliff Beach Guided hike for dogs (and their owners!) with Christina Fehre. Meet 10 am at the entrance to Englewood Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 1). About 2 mi., 1.5 hrs., easy with some rocky sections. Dogs must be leashed. Free; $5 parking.
Explore the Hudson Children’s river seining program with the Trail Crew. Meet 2 pm at the entrance to Englewood Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 1). Short, ¼-mile walk to Bloomer’s Beach. Appropriate for all ages. Free; $5 parking.

Wildflower Walk: Forest View to State Line Guided hike with Nancy Slowik. Meet 10 am at the Forest View trailhead in Alpine (at the pedestrian bridge over the PIP opposite Boy Scout Camp Alpine). About 4 mi., 2 hrs., moderate. Free.

Wednesday evenings, October 13, 20, and 27

“Punch & Pie” at Mrs. Kearney’s tavern 19th-century tavern programs at the Kearney House, with light food & drink, tall tales & music, etc. From 7:30–10 pm. $18 per guest per evening, reservations and pre-payment required: 201 768-1360 ext. 108 / kearney@njpalisades.org (please specify evening and number in party—initial reservation will be held for 1 week pending receipt of payment).

Sunday, October 31

Hallowe’en Hike Guided hike with Eeric Nelsen. Meet 5 pm at the Kearney House at Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 2). About 3.5 mi., 2 hrs., moderate. Bring flashlights. Free.
