Allison Park is an 8-acre scenic cliff-top park area overlooking the Hudson in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, about 1 mile north of the George Washington Bridge. It is south of St. Peter’s College, with access for hikers from the Long Path and for pedestrians, cyclists, and cars and motorcycles via Allison Park Road from Hudson Terrace.
GPS: 40.870044, -73.952497
Pedestrians, Bicycles, Cars & Motorcycles:
- From Hudson Terrace (east of and parallel to U.S. Route 9W): Entrance to Allison Park Road intersects Hudson Terrace from the east, opposite the Englewood Cliffs Department of Public Works. Take Allison Park Road beneath the Parkway, then turn right (south) to the entrance to Allison Park at end of the road.
Cars & Motorcycles Only:
- From northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway: Take Exit 1, Palisade Ave. Turn right off the exit ramp onto Palisade Ave., then take an immediate left (south) onto Hudson Terrace. In about 0.5 mi., the entrance to Allison Park Road will be on the left, opposite the Englewood Cliffs Department of Public Works. Take the entrance road beneath the Parkway, then turn right (south) to the entrance to Allison Park at end of the road.
- From southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway: If taking Exit 1, as described above, you must make a left turn off the exit ramp, which can be difficult, then right on Hudson Terrace. An alternative is to take the exit for Hudson Terrace (south of gas stations south of Exit 1, just past the split for GW Bridge). Turn right off the short exit ramp onto Hudson Terrace headed north. In about 1 mi., the entrance road will be on the right (east), opposite the Englewood Cliffs Department of Public Works. Take the entrance road underneath the Parkway, then turn right (south) to the entrance to Allison Park at end of the road.
