Old Route 9W

On the summit of the Palisades, cycling is allowed during open hours on Old Route 9W (approx. 1.5 mi., closed to automobile traffic) from U.S. Route 9W to State Line Lookout.

Stay alert and practice courteous riding — this roadway is used extensively by pedestrians of all ages!

ROAD SAFETY

When a barrier has been put in place by the Parkway Police on any roadway, the roadway beyond that barrier is to be considered closed for all use; those going beyond such a barrier are subject to summonses.

Remember!

Bicycles on park roadways must have wheels of at least 15 inches, cyclists must wear helmets and stay right, and groups must ride single file and obey all traffic and park regulations.

In addition to Dyckman Hill Road, cycling is not allowed on any hiking trail, walking path, or cross-country ski trail, on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, or beyond the parking areas at Allison Park and Fort Lee Historic Park. Violators will receive fines and may receive points on their licenses.
