PLEASE NOTE: Metered Parking exemptions are NOT valid at Hazard's Ramp

Information about Tidal Flooding in Parking Areas

During the several days around a new or full moon, tides run higher than normal, and it is possible that sections of the parking areas closest to the river at Englewood and Alpine Picnic Areas may flood for up to several hours around the time of high tide. This is especially likely if there is storm activity in the area (including offshore) and at certain times of year, especially in the fall. These conditions have become more frequent and severe in recent years and are likely to worsen further as sea levels continue to rise due to climate change!
