Calendar of Events
Unless otherwise indicated, all public programs are FREE and open to all, with NO advance registration required.

Guided Hikes
We offer hiking tours for many different ability levels, led by park staff. These events are scheduled throughout the year and are publicly posted. Guided hikes are free and open to all, with no registration. Parking fees may be in effect at specific meeting locations.

Retreat to Victory
To commemorate the 1776 British invasion of New Jersey and the beginning of the Continental Army’s strategic “Retreat to Victory,” Retreat Weekend is held each year at Fort Lee Historic Park on the weekend closest to the historic date of November 20. It includes reenactments of eighteenth-century life and weapon and battle demonstrations.

Living History Programs
Our Public Historians host programs at the Kearney House, where participants are invited to experience life along the Hudson River at an 1800's dockside tavern. Some of these programs are “open-house” and appropriate for all ages with no reservations required. Tavern Nights require reservations, and are more suitable for adult audiences.

The Public History Department has plenty of illustrated talks which can be presented in-person at Libraries, Community Centers, or Schools. In addition, these entertaining and educational programs may be presented remotely or in hybrid programs.

Volunteering
We offer a range of opportunities to pitch in and help! Scout groups, community service requrements, or simply to do a good deed, the Palisades is a great place to give back.

Memorial Bench Program
Through this program, you can provide a new public amenity to the park while adding a touching tribute to loved ones, both alive and deceased.
